Our Team

David B. Eaton, CPA, CGMA - President

David has been advising business owners on financial, taxation, and accounting matters for over 20 years. He has a proven history of providing leadership and expertise in both private industry and public practice. David is a forward thinking financial executive who believes that the real value in accounting is in helping businesses move forward and accomplish their goals. While it is critically important to have accurate historical accounting and tax records, it is much more important for business owners to see the financial vision of where their business is heading. Therefore, it is David's mission to ensure that his clients not only have a firm foundation of financial history, but also a vision for where they are going and a plan for getting there.

Prior to founding Essential Financial Management, David served as a Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Sheffield Homes. For 10 years, in his role as CFO, David provided direction and leadership to the organization for all financial operations. This included over-seeing and managing all financial and tax reporting, managing relationships with lending institutions, and overseeing human resources, information technology, and risk management. David helped manage various land acquisition and development projects and was responsible for creating and communicating the various financial projections for specific projects and the company in general.

David holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder's Leeds School of Business with an emphasis in Accounting. Upon graduation from college, David worked for the Certified Public Accounting firm of Hines, Condon & Zarlengo, P.C. (now Zarlengo Raub LLLP). During his 5 year tenure there, David provided audit and review engagement services to a variety of clients in industries such as manufacturing, construction, retail, wholesale, government and not-for-profit entities. David also provided consulting, compilation, tax planning and tax preparation services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies.

David has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado since 1996 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, David has been certified as a Chartered Global Management Accountant since July 2012.

Kelly Satterfield, CPA - Senior Accountant

Kelly has over 15 years experience in the accounting profession. She has worked in both the private and public sectors. In the private sector she has performed all accounting functions from bank reconciliations to preparing tax and audit work papers as well as assisting the Controller / CFO. Prior to joining EFM she worked for 2 different CPA firms preparing individual, partnership, corporate, and estate tax returns. She also provided bookkeeping services, compilations, reviews, and audits for various companies.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado - Denver. Prior to that, she earned an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting from Red Rocks Community College.

Kelly has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Colorado since 2004. She is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountant and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Kelly is an Alaska native and moved to Colorado in 1995 with her husband of 16 years and high school sweetheart. They have 2 boys and love to camp and ride dirt bikes as a family during the summer.

Rose Airhart – Bookkeeper/Accountant

Rose has over 20 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. She began in Public Accounting, working on audit engagements in the airline, banking and manufacturing industries. Then she moved on to the Oil & Gas Industry where she worked as a Financial Analyst. Several years before joining us, she assisted several small businesses with their bookkeeping and payroll needs. Here at EFM Rose works with our many clients that have trusted us with their monthly bookkeeping responsibilities. Rose is a Colorado native and enjoys spending time with her family in the mountains hiking, biking and camping.

Elena Leksina - Bookkeeper/Accountant/

Elena has been with EFM since August 2016 and brings over 20 years of experience providing administrative support and customer service to various companies for which she has worked. Born and raised in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, she attended Siberian Federal University and achieved a bachelor’s degree in legal science in 1989. She recently completed accounting studies at Emily Griffiths Technical College in Denver and is furthering her accounting education at Front Range Community College in Westminster. At EFM Elena is responsible for providing monthly bookkeeping and sales tax services for clients of the firm.

Elena moved to the United States in 2011 to pursue a new and exciting life in pursuit of the American Dream. She loves being outdoors and feels that Colorado is a natural fit for her and her lifestyle. Elena loves to travel (she has visited over 20 countries) and she loves exploring all the different landscapes they have to offer.

Nicole Bendig - Bookkeeper/Accountant

Nicole joined Essential Financial Management in November of 2017 to provide tax, accounting and bookkeeping services for clients of the firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Wyoming in German/English, but chose to further her studies in Accounting at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has over 20 years experience in public and private industry accounting.

A Wyoming native, Nicole moved to Colorado in 1995 and when she’s not crunching numbers, you can find her baking, designing and decorating cakes.


Vinny Verini - Client Services Director

Vinny has 15 years of experience in marketing, management and customer relations. He has worked in various industries including chemical, construction, and automotive. In the construction industry he was in charge of large detailed projects and has experience successfully handling and taking care of large volumes of clients. Vinny heads the marketing department within our firm. His responsibilities include managing his team, increasing company exposure through social media, acquiring new clients for the firm, and client satisfaction and retention.

Vinny was born in New Jersey. His family moved to Colorado in 1993 and has never looked back. He and his son love being outdoors on the weekends, often visiting car shows and spending quality time at the lake.


Janetta Giardino - Office Administrator/Bookkeeper

Janetta joined Essential Financial Management to provide administrative support to the EFM team and bookkeeping services to our clients. Janetta has over 20 years of management, administrative, customer service and bookkeeping experience. She has worked in several different fields and has always enjoyed being the go to person for owners, staff and clients.

Janetta is a native of Colorado and loves spending time with her very large Italian family. Cooking, eating and having parties are always on the forefront of daily life. She and her two grown children love doing projects, traveling and exploring the arts in Denver.
